Fright Frest Extreme plans to bring your nightmares to life this Halloween season
Six Flags Entertainment is set to elevate its Halloween offerings this year with the introduction of Fright Fest Extreme – Presented By SNICKERS. This exciting new event will debut at two of its flagship parks: Six Flags Magic Mountain in Southern California and Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey.
Building on the success of last year’s “Saw” and “The Conjuring” experiences, Six Flags is going all-in on intellectual property (IP) theming for 2024. Edithann Ramey, Six Flags’ Chief Commercial Officer and self-proclaimed “Chief Fright Officer,” explains the perfect synergy between Halloween, horror movies, and theme parks: “Halloween turns the world upside down, and these Halloween movies are thrill rides, so it just became like the perfect fit for us.
Fright Fest Extreme promises to immerse visitors in a world where beloved horror franchises come to life. Guests can expect to encounter nightmarish creatures inspired by an impressive lineup of IPs, including:
- Lionsgate and Twisted Pictures’ “SAW” franchise
- Netflix’s “Stranger Things” and “Army of the Dead”
- Warner Bros. Discovery’s “The Conjuring,” “Annabelle,” and “The Nun”
- Legendary Entertainment’s “Trick ‘r Treat”
Six Flags Great Adventure will also feature a new experience based on Legendary Entertainment’s “Texas Chainsaw Massacre,” while Six Flags Mexico will offer an exclusive maze inspired by DC Comics’ bestselling series “DCeased.”
The event will run for an unprecedented 32 nights from September 7 through November 3 at both Six Flags Magic Mountain and Six Flags Great Adventure. This marks the longest Fright Fest season ever for Six Flags Magic Mountain, which will host the event on select Thursdays through Sundays. Six Flags Great Adventure’s Fright Fest Extreme will operate on select Wednesdays through Sundays.
It’s important to note that Fright Fest Extreme will be a separately ticketed event, not included with regular park admission. Prices will vary by date and ticket type, with single-night tickets starting at $49 for Six Flags Great Adventure and $75 for Six Flags Magic Mountain during a limited-time flash sale.
Season Pass holders (Gold, Platinum, and Diamond), Six Plus members, and Legacy members with valid passes will enjoy free entry to the event. However, they will need to purchase a separate fee for access to the haunted houses. For those looking to minimize wait times, an express upgrade option will be available for purchase.
As the summer progresses, Six Flags plans to announce additional IP offerings at other parks, further expanding the reach of this thrilling new Halloween experience.
