The Great Jack O Lantern Blaze, nestled in the heart of Westchester County—famously known as the home of Sleepy Hollow—is celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2024, promising an unforgettable spectacle of Halloween artistry and imagination.
Since its inception in 2005, this mesmerizing event has drawn over 2 million visitors to the Van Cortlandt Manor, a 17th-century estate transformed each fall into a wonderland of glowing pumpkins. Last year alone, the Blaze featured over 7,000 intricately carved pumpkins, creating awe-inspiring sculptures that ranged from towering dinosaurs to twinkling cityscapes.
This year’s milestone celebration, running from September 13 to November 17, introduces exciting new features while honoring fan favorites. Visitors can marvel at the famous Pumpkin Planetarium, walk across a lifelike replica of the Gov. Mario M. Cuomo Bridge, and, of course, brave the iconic Headless Horseman Bridge—a nod to the region’s literary legacy.
For its 20th anniversary, the Blaze is unveiling a unique VIP experience for adults 21 and over. The Gourd & Goblet Tavern at Van Cortlandt Manor offers an exclusive 18th-century style speakeasy, complete with specialty cocktails, unique food items, and tavern games. This limited-access feature provides a perfect midway respite for those looking to enhance their Blaze experience.
Movie buffs will delight in a new addition to the pumpkin trail—a tribute to classic movie monsters inspired by the Starlight Drive-In that once operated in the area. This cinematic touch adds a nostalgic flair to the already enchanting atmosphere.

To commemorate two decades of Halloween magic, special $20 tickets will be available on select weeknights, making this beloved event more accessible than ever.
